Best for drying a car December 30, 2008 I recently purchased a brand new car and of course I wanted only the best equipment and tools to clean and pamper my car. I tried a lot of different "shammies" and drying towels made of terry cloth or microfiber or whatever. Simply said, none of them left me satisfied after washing and drying the car. One day I was at T@rget and saw this in the automotive section read the back and said "hey why not, worth a shot". Well that shot paid off big time! This thing is amazing at what it does and leaves my car streak-free and shining beautifully when done. What works best for me is that it HAS to be somewhat wet before starting to use it; not saturated or sopping wet but a good damp works. The amount of water the absorber retains really is a feat in itself. I recommend this highly and trust it fully to always get the job done.
not a chamois December 21, 2008 don't think you are buying a substitute for a chamois. you are not. it is thick, it does not absorb as well. it is a fake chamois and fake is always a compromise. it leaves water behind. rated just ok for me. spend your money on a real chamois.
this works very well December 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
but the key is to get it wet and then wring it out before you use it. i dont think the nay-sayers know that
Versatile, long-lasting December 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use this product around the house. I cut up the absorber, and always keep a piece near the kitchen sink for all kinds of clean up, as well as in the bathroom. It truly does last for years, and I've reduced my use of paper towel to almost nil. Because it is so soft, it won't scratch any surfaces. To avoid bacterial build-up, I wash it with household soap and do not follow the recommendation to store it damp, but it revives immediately when it is wet again.
perfect with a squeegee October 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I cut them in half and use them for window washing with a squeegee( to wipe rubber blade dry) I no longer have to continually replace with a dry towel. Just squeeze out the excess water and keep on going. They will become hard if not kept in a plastic bag for storage
