TOP NOTCH ITEM November 5, 2008 I just bought an 84 Chevette. It had been garaged it's whole life but I don't think it was ever waxed. That being said. I bought this after reading the reviews and it lives up to all the hype. Goes on easy and wipes off the same way. It really brought this car back to life. I would say it looks like an 04 not an 84. lol
Can You Say Easy? October 7, 2008 I want my boat to be easy to clean, but I don't care if it doesn't have a mirror shine. I spray on the ICE, wipe it around with their cloth and I'm done...I don't 'polish' it off after it dries. I don't have the inspiration to tackle the "wax on - wax off" thing; now I don't have to feel guilty about ignoring my boat's finish.
Ice is Nice October 6, 2008 Very quick application, very appreciable results. The only thing I don't like about it is its tendency to actually ATTRACT fine dust while driving. One can wipe it off but the whole appeal of Turtle Wax Ice is ease of use, both a shine and protectant in one.
I live in the country and need something that works well but is easy to apply, since I wash my car weekly, and should do it more often if I had the time. I'm all for Ice, it does work well, but just wish it wouldn't attract dust. Haven't decided whether I'll buy another bottle or go for Meguiar's NXT wax.
Wow, I am truely amazed by Turtle ice September 30, 2008 This thing totally beats all the other cleaner wax products I've used. Its extremely easy to apply (like putting on baby oil to your car). It smells really good. You only need very very small amount to cover your entire car.
Results is very exciting: Extreme mirror shine that is unbeatable by any other cleaner wax I've used. After a month water still beads up pretty good and the mirror shine is still quite good. So not only it shines your car extremely well, it lasts quite long too.
For the amount of money you pay ($$$) for top wax, the turtle ICE liquid polish is definitely a great alternative to treat your car with a mirror shine.
I just wish I've discovered this thing when I got my car 2 years ago!
An easy solution to casual detailers August 19, 2008 Let me preface this review with the fact that I have tried numerous waxes/sealants over the years with diverse results. I approached this product with a bit of skepticism, as I have been burned before with other product's marketing hype. I would consider myself a casual detailer who details my daily driver on a consistent basis and occasionally do paid details to a select group of customers.
My test vehicle: 2008 Honda Odyssey (blue)prepped with Liquid ClayBar:
Pros:
First off, the product really goes on easily and you use a surprisingly little amount. I cannot vouch for the supplied applicator ( although it seemed fine) because I used a Cyclo polisher (with white finishing pads). I was literally able to wax the entire vehicle within a span of 15 minutes.
It is incredible easy to remove the product and it does not leave any discernable residue. I also love the fact that it can be used in direct sunlight without adverse results.
TW Ice left a nice crisp shine on the test vehicle. A pure carnuba based wax would leave a warmer shine, but the results were consistent with other synthetic waxes.
Cons:
Expensive compared to similiar waxes, but one uses very little per application so there is definite value there(a little does go a long way)
Using the word "polish" is confusing. That is usually reserved for products that remove oxidation and minor defects in the paint. Ice Polish is a wax (last step protectant) with no abrasive (i.e. cutting) properties. If your vehicle has swirls, oxidation, etc it will need to be addressed prior to applying this. ( I had to address water marks with prior to applying this)
Due to the fact that the product has watery consistency (unlike other waxes) it is easy to over apply the product. It is just a learning curve in my estimation.
Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by this and the Liquid Claybar. They do work well together and the test vehicle has a nice smooth surface with greatly enhanced shine.
