Looked good... January 6, 2009 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm kind of bummed 'cuz I saw that the price went down a little a few days after I bought it. I also expected more recipes so that was also a little disappointing. If interested in buying this book, I would recommend checking it out from a library first to judge more accurately how much use you'd get out of it. There's a few ideas and things in there that I may try. But overall, been there, done that.
Excellent book for families January 5, 2009 This is a great book. I've tried many and not only are the recipes high fiber, low sugar, and low fat but my kids (4 and 8) thought they tasted great. My husband loved the marinara sauce and the "new meatballs". I may be an experienced cook but I found the recipes very easy to put together unlike some other low fat cookbooks, and the ingredients easy to find in the grocery store. Definitely a home-rum in my view!
Not for young children! January 4, 2009 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book is not what I expected. Most of the meals take TIME to cook, and TIME to shop for multiple ingredients, which is great if you don't have a full-time job and driver duty for after-school activities. Almost nothing can be prepped ahead of time. Most dishes have at least one expensive ingredient, or use only part of a package (what do you do with the rest?). Many dishes have seasonings or flavor combinations that a young child won't tolerate (at least mine won't!). This cookbook is better titled "The Biggest Loser Family Gourmet Cookbook."
Really Great Cookbook! January 2, 2009 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We just LOVE this cookbook! Got it yesterday, had pizza burgers and sweet potato fries for lunch... followed up with fish tacos and texas caviar (no fish eggs, I promise!) for dinner..
Cant wait to try another recipie tonight. This is just fantastic. My 14 year old son is having a great time helping to cook and the recipies make it easy to do just that. He has even said he'd like to cook one night a week - Horray!
We love that this is real food, not weird tofu and bean sprouts stuff... thanks so much biggest loser!
even my kids like the recipes December 28, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We are a family of 6 and all my kids (ages 15, 14, 12, 10 yrs) love the recipes. They have even made a few themselves. The recipes are easy to put together and taste great too!
